Guide to enrolling on the web and onCourse

Having trouble with the web enrolment process? We can help.

This guide is to explain how to help with some of the more common situations in enrolling via the website:

  • How do I enrol in more than one class?
  • How do I enrol my friend or friends in the same class(es)?

In order to successfully enrol via the web, students need to follow these steps:

  • Click on “Add to shortlist” link on each class that the student is interested in. If they are only interested in one class, they can jump directly to the next step.
  • Click on any “Enrol now” link. This will take the student to a page where they can start entering their contact details such as first name, surname and email address. Additional information will be requested if this is the first time the student has attempted to enrol via the website.
  • After student information has been submitted, the student will be taken to a new summary page listing the enrolments and a payment section at the button that will allows a student to put in their payment details if everything is correct.
  • Friends and additional students can be added by now clicking on the “Add another student” link, which will be very similar to the step above concerning entering student information.
  • After submitting the payment details, the web site will make a payment request to the gateway. The user should expect to see a message which confirms the status of the payment and if the payment was successful, each student should expect receive an email listing their enrolments.

General questions if people encounter problems:

  • Ask the students to describe what happened with as much detail as possible:
    • If they’re using Windows
    • If they’re using Firefox
    • What stage of the process they got to (adding student details, adding additional student, payment etc)
    • What course or class code
    • How many contacts were they had added
    • Screenshots
