Have your say about the future of AVETMISS
Did you hear? NCVER would love to know what you think about the AVETMISS standard. You can download the discussion paper and feedback form from their website. Submissions close 6 August 2010.
Some of the ideas up for discussion are students’ intentions at the time of enrolment so they can be compared to their enrolment outcome, collecting information about the students’ socio-economic status, if the standard can be shaped to accommodate reporting of non-accredited training, plus our very favourite – consideration of the underlying file structure and format (XML here we come!)
While we will we have plenty to say (mostly from a technical perspective) we would love to hear from you what you like or don’t like about the way the current standard works for you. You probably already know we try to make it one of our missions in life to make this process simpler for our customers, but we readily admit it is hard work, especially when each state seems to do it just that little bit differently. We will endeavour to incorporate your feedback and examples into our submission, if writing a detailed response isn’t something you have time for right now.
So how could AVETMISS-as-we-know-it evolve into something new that will make your job of data collection easier?
